Service Description: This map layer displays where landslides have occurred and areas which are susceptible to landsliding. The data was prepared for use by a broad base of users including geologists, planners, decision makers from government entities at all levels and the general public. Landslide incidence and susceptibility polygons were digitized from the original stable-base manuscripts from USGS Professional Paper 1183. It is noted that they are unsuitable for local planning or actual site selection.

Layers: Description: This map delineate areas in the conterminous United States where large numbers of landslides have occurred and areas which are susceptible to landsliding. Landslide incidence and susceptibility polygons were digitized from the original stable-base manuscripts at 1:3,750,000 from U.S. Geological Survey Professional Paper 1183. The data should be displayed and analyzed at scales appropriate for 1:4,000,000-scale data. They are unsuitable for local planning or actual site selection.
