Service Description: The Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) Program compiles the TRI data on toxic chemical releases and waste management activities reported annually by certain industries as well as federal facilities and makes it available through downloadable files and several data access tools. The goal of the Toxics Release Inventory program is to provide communities with information about toxic chemical releases and waste management activities and to support informed decision making at all levels by industry, government, non-governmental organizations, and the public. To communicate chemical effects on human health, the TRI data has been supplemented with data from the Haz-Map database compiled by the U.S. National Library of Medicine.
